    Kerusuhan 14-15 Mei 1998 silam yang menjadikan etnis Tionghoa sebagai sasaran amuk massa seakan mengokohkan citra Kota Solo sebagai kota yang bersumbu pendek. Kerusuhan ini bukan merupakan kerusuhan pertama antara etnis Tionghoa dan Jawa di Kota Solo, namun sudah merupakan yang ketujuh sejak tahun 1745. Sebenarnya, penyebab kerusuhan ini adalah masalah sosial, ekonomi, dan politik yang mengkambinghitamkan masalah etnis. Adanya Perkumpulan Masyarakat Surakarta (PMS) yang selama lebih dari 70 tahun mampu menjaga hubungan kedua etnis di dalam organisasinya layak mendapat perhatian penting. Perhatian diarahkan pada faktor-faktor yang menjadikan PMS, yang awalnya organisasi Tionghoa, hingga kini mampu menjaga keharmonisan hubungan etnis Tionghoa dan Jawa dengan baik. Salah satunya adalah kemampuan masing-masing anggota untuk berkomunikasi dengan anggota lainnya yang berbeda etnis. Secara umum, penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang dimiliki oleh anggota PMS baik yang beretnis Tionghoa maupun Jawa yang mendukung keberhasilan komunikasi antarbudaya di tubuh organisasi tersebut. Metodologi penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan interpretif yang mendeskripsikan dan memahami perilaku dan praktik komunikasi informan kedua etnis di PMS. Untuk mendukung pendekatan interpretif, digunakan tradisi fenomenologi yang berusaha memahami setiap pengalaman informan untuk memperjelas pemahaman. Teknik analisis data mengacu pada teori kompetensi komunikasi antarbudaya Brian H. Spitzberg dan William B. Gudykunst. Penelitian difokuskan pada hasil kompetensi, faktor-faktor penghambat, dan kompetensi komunikasi antarbudaya masing-masing informan dari kedua etnis. Kompetensi komunikasi antarbudaya terdiri dari tiga unsur yakni (1) motivasi; (2) pengetahuan; dan (3) keterampilan komunikasi antarbudaya. Secara umum, penulis sampai pada kesimpulan bahwa masing-masing anggota PMS baik etnis Tionghoa dan Jawa telah mampu menjalin komunikasi antarbudaya satu sama lain secara kompeten. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan keberhasilan pembauran di tubuh PMS yang diuraikan di Bab III dan kompetensi yang dimiliki di Bab IV. Meskipun demikian, masih ditemukan faktor-faktor penghambat berupa etnosentrisme, stereotip, dan prasangka pada masing-masing anggota PMS. Namun, mereka berkeyakinan bahwa faktor-faktor penghambat ini bukan merupakan hal yang mutlak. Dengan demikian, mereka mampu menyikapi faktor penghambat tersebut secara arif

    One of the main components from frequency counter is a processor. This processor must have ability to conduct counting and arithmetical calculation. To get competitive price, in this research a microcontroller is applied as a processor. This paper presents design of frequency counter based on microcontroller AT89S51 which has two independent timers. The input frequency counter is conducted by using facilities inside microcontroller e.g. T0 and external interruption. Counter method used in this research is by measuring input signal period. This method is proven effectively to count frequency especially low frequency. As the result, the frequency counter has successfully measured frequency from 0.1 until 10 kHz with maximum error 1%. This device is possible to be the next frequency counter with competitive price

    A frequency counter is an electronic instrument, or component of one, that is used for measuring frequency. Frequency counters usually measure the number of oscillations or pulse per second in a repetitive electronic signal. A digital-signal frequency counter, can measure the number of positive-going-transition or the number of negative-going-transition of signal in a set of period time. This microcontroller-based frequency counter work by using a counter, which accumulates the number of negative-going-transitions occurring within two periods for 16-bit microcontroller-timer overflow. After the period, the value in the counter is divided by the period and transferred to a display. This frequency counter can measure frequency from 100 Hz to 1 MHz. The upper limit of frequency can be extended up to 256 MHz by adding a frequency divider. The analysis of the accuracy of measuring presented in this article can support to determine the number of digit to display.

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh penggunaan emoney terhadap pencatatan laporan keuangan dan pengaruh moderasi pengetahuan akuntansi dalam hubungan antara penggunaan emoney dan pencatatan laporan keuangan. Sampel yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah UMKM di Kecamatan Argomulyo Salatiga sebanyak 56 sampel yang dipilih melalui purposive sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan data primer berupa hasil dari penyebaran kuesioner terhadap pemilik Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM). Hasil analisis menunjukan bahwa penggunaan emoney memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap pencatatan laporan keuangan. Hasil temuan juga menyatakan bahwa pengetahuan akuntansi mampu memodeasi hubungan antara penggunaan emoney terhadap pencatatan laporan keuangan.This study aims to examine the effect of the use of e-money on recording financial statements and the influence of moderation of accounting knowledge in the relationship between the use of emoney and recording financial statements. The sample used in this study was MSMEs in Argomulyo Salatiga Subdistrict as many as 56 samples were selected through purposive sampling. This study uses primary data in the form of results from distributing questionnaires to owners of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). The analysis shows that the use of emoney has a negative significant effect on the recording of financial statements. The findings also state that accounting knowledge is able to moderate the relationship between the use of e-money and recording financial statements

    Adaptive Traffic Controller Based On Pre-Timed System

    Adaptive traffic controller systems based on image processing have been developed widely. Nevertheless, in a developing country, the systems often could not be easily applied because all types of vehicle use the same road. Therefore, to overcome the problem, the new concept of the systems is proposed. The systems were developed from a pre-timed traffic controller system that based on AVR microcontroller. By default, the systems use the signal-timing plans to control the vehicle flow. To accommodate the traffic variations, a new method of vehicle detection has been built. The method calculated an intensity histogram standard deviation of the image representing a detection area to determine traffic density of each intersection lane. The systems modified the green-time of each lane based on the traffic density. The method could detect all types of vehicles and work properly in a day and a night time

    Pre-Timed and Coordinated Traffic Controller Systems Based on AVR Microcontroller

    The major weaknesses of traffic controllers in Indonesia are unable to accommodate the variety of traffic volume and unable to be coordinated. To solve the problem, a pre-timed and coordinated traffic controller system is build. The system consists of a master and a local controller. Each controller has a database containing signal-timing plans that would be allocated to manage vehicle flows. To synchronize the signal-timing, the master controller sends the synchronization data to the local controller wirelessly and the local controller shifts the end of a cycle by adding or subtracting the green interval of any phases. The transition time for synchronization only takes one to several cycles. The algorithm for controlling the traffic including coordination can be done by an AVR microcontroller. Memory usage of the microcontroller is lower than 10% meanwhile the CPU utilization is no more than 1%, thus the systems could be widely developed

    Optimizing the solar cell output power requires a tracker. The tracker which produce a maximum output power is called a maximum power point tracking (MPPT). In this research, each component in MPPT is modeled into Simulink. By using a perturb and observe (P & O) algorithms, this simulation is designed to optimize the solar cell output power. The output of the algorithm is a duty cycle. This parameter is fed into a buck-boost converter to convert the solar cell output voltage to the output voltage. The simulation results show that MPPT can increase the output power up to 37.82% dispite of the sun irradiation, temperature and load changes

    A Novel Boost-Buck Converter Architecture for Improving Transient Response and Output-Voltage Ripple

    Buck-boost converters are widely used in the development of DC-DC converters. Several techniques and algorithms have been introduced to improve the transient response of buck-boost converters. However, due to the opposite trends of the output current change and the output voltage change, undershoot or overshoot in the output voltage still seems to be inevitable. In order to overcome this problem, a novel boost-buck converter architecture is proposed to build a fast transient response DC-DC converter. The converter consists of a cascaded configuration of the boost and buck stages. The boost stage converts the input voltage to the shared capacitor voltage and the buck stage supplies energy to the load by converting the shared capacitor voltage to the output voltage. By harnessing the energy stored in the shared capacitor, the transient response of the boost buck converter can be improved to 2 µs in a step-up load current change of 1 A with an output-voltage ripple of 15 mV
